006 – The Aurora Colorado Shooting and it’s Creepy, CREEPY Coincidences

Up to this point I have been establishing the groundwork for why, in the early stages after the mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado, on July 20, 2012 that some conspiracy theorists such as myself began to question the official narrative of a lone gunman. This was primarily due to the fact that police and fire audio recordings themselves, as well as eyewitness testimony the night of the shooting, corroborate the very real possibility that there were multiple shooters (or at least multiple accomplices). Further, as the early investigation continued after the shooting, officials in the case seemed to make concerted efforts to establish the lone gunman narrative and report inaccurate information with alarming vigor. I assure you that I have only begun to scratch the surface of revealing all the evidence of accomplices, false information, inaccurate facts reported in the press, evidence of coverup and obfuscating the facts. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I have opted to compile all the audio recordings and eyewitness testimony together and present it in a chronologically ordered fashion, some of the biggest shocks won’t happen until much later in the chain of events.

What I am about to share with you today, however, is something that, under normal circumstances, I would NEVER spring on someone early in establishing a conspiracy theory’s credibility. The connections I am about to make here are simply way too far out there for normal, so-called “rational” people to even entertain. So I urge you to please not consider what you are about to read today as part of the bigger conspiracy at hand. This is simply some very interesting “coincidences” that happened prior to the shooting in which I found worthy enough to at least investigate a little further. Only REALLY hard-core conspiracy theorists follow connections like these so I promise to be brief.

When we last left off in my recreation of events that night, the lights were dimming and the previews were about to start. It is now approximately 12:01 am MST in my recreation of events of July 20, 2012. Theater eight was scheduled to start their movie at 12:01 am while theater nine, where the official shooting occurred, started their movie at 12:05 am.  It is worth nothing that theater eight therefore would be approximately four or five minutes ahead of theater nine the entire time.  It is also worth noting that theater eight shares a wall with theater nine and that these two theaters are the only two theaters in the 16-plex at Century 16 Theaters that have a common walkway adjoining the two “houses” up top next to the projection room. In other words, it is possible to walk from theater 9 into theater 8 or vice versa without entering the lobby via the adjoining walkway, a feature unique to these two theaters. Theater ten, a little further down the hall, would not start their previews until 12:15 am, fifteen minutes later.

At approximately 12:05 am, as confirmed by many movie theater patrons in the theater that night, the house lights in theater nine dimmed and movie previews began playing. According to an off-duty theater employee attending the premier, theater nine seats 415 people and was sold out.  Based on the theater’s definition of a “sell out”, she says, that means there were at least 350 to 400 people in the theater at this time.  The previews would run approximately fifteen minutes.

As the lights were beginning to dim in theater 9, Corbin Dates returned from the lobby with his best friend Jennifer Seeger. He recalls glancing at the exit door where earlier he saw a man on a cell phone propping open the door and motioning for someone as if trying to have someone come to him. At this point Corbin Dates noticed that the door to the emergency exit seemed to be closed.

The crowd surely must have been eagerly awaiting the start of The Dark Knight Rises with great anticipation and it is reported that cheers went up as the lights dimmed and the previews began. But there was something eerily creepy about the previews that night that may have little, if anything, to do with the multiple gunman conspiracy theory. You decide for yourself if this is all purely coincidence or something darker afoot.

Shortly after the shooting, many eyewitnesses could not accurately recall exactly what movie previews they had seen before the batman premier began. Fortunately, what they saw is easy enough to look up and confirm.

Well, sort of!

You see, one of the movies previewed before the start of Batman that night was the new James Bond movie, “Skyfall”. In the movie trailer version for Skyfall that was seen in the theaters that night, the camera slowly pans over the city of Shanghai at night. To my utter astonishment, one of the larger and more prominent buildings in the Shanghai skyline that appeared in the trailer that night just so happens to be the Aurora Plaza building. I have to admit that when I saw the big red bright word “Aurora” standing out in a trailer for Skyfall that was being played on the screen in Aurora, Colorado, it was more than a little creepy. Below is a nice clear image of the Aurora building in Shanghai (note this is NOT a still image from the trailer by the way).

While the cityscape in the movie trailer passes by quickly, many photos of the city skyline are available on the internet today which prove conclusively that there is a building called the Aurora Plaza that has the word Aurora on it in huge red letters in the Shanghai skyline. Unfortunately the trailer for Skyfall that depicts this scene is suddenly very difficult to find. For example, I planned to link to the original trailer in this blog so you can see it yourself but after watching trailer after trailer of Skyfall available today on YouTube, the version I saw ten years ago and the one that the audience saw that night just prior to the shooting, apparently has been replaced with new trailers omitting this scene. The only PROOF I was able to find at this point is a snippet of the trailer a youtuber captured and posted online (seen below). Obviously by posting this snippet the YouTuber thought it was significantly strange enough that they clipped out just that portion of the video shared it with others. Comments to the video snippet simply encourage people to watch the full movie trailer to get a better image, but good luck finding that video now. It appears to have mysteriously disappeared. And yeah, that kind of shit that drives conspiracy theorists such as myself bonkers because if we don’t capture the evidence the moment before it’s scrubbed we come off as nutbags or liars.

But there was another strange scene in the previews for Skyfall…at least another scene that certainly caught my attention. Unfortunately the scene I CLEARLY remember has apparently also been removed from the newer versions of the trailer such that I can’t prove any of this to you. This is the reason I lose sleep at night, btw. Anyway, in the trailer there is a scene in which James Bond is being questioned or interrogated. By the blank look on his face, one almost gets the impression that James Bond appears drugged or under some sort of hypnosis while being interrogated.  At some point during the interrogation the “interrogator” says the word “Skyfall” as if it is a trigger word and James Bond seems to suddenly snap out of his semi hypnotic state and say “Done”.  Next James Bond springs into action and violence ensues in the trailer as if he has been set into motion.

Not sure how this matters one bit? Ok, well get ready to make fun of me now.

You see, some early conspiracy theorists saw in this preview similarities to the shooting that would soon follow in the theater that night.  For example, James Holmes would appear in court days following the shooting appearing to be blank faced, drugged and dazed much like the character James Bond was in the preview.  To make matters worse, leaked news stories from someone claiming to have been inside the holding cell where James Holmes was taken claimed that James Holmes had no memory of what he had done, as if maybe he were under hypnosis. In fact, to get even CRAZIER, Holmes allegedly told someone later that he had been “programmed” to kill by an “evil doctor” and described his memory of the shooting as if he were watching a video game.

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that’s a HUGE flippin’ stretch and that’s the reason I really hesitated sharing it with you today, but the fact is, it DID catch my attention and I found it worthy enough to make note.

But wait, there’s more!

A second trailer that patrons in theater nine saw right before the start of the movie was a preview for the upcoming movie Gangster Squad in which theater goers watched a trailer depicting gunmen hiding behind the movie screen during a theater scene.  At one point in the trailer the gunmen behind the screen start opening fire on people in a crowded movie theater as police try and stop the mayhem.  Here is part of that original trailer for Gangster Squad seen by theater goers that evening just before the shooting.

Like in the trailer for Gangster Squad, Century 16 theaters contains very large recesses behind the movie screens where reportedly frightened employees were said to later be found hiding from the shooter.  And, just like in the movie trailer, police actually came rushing in to save people from the shooter that night.  Immediately following the actual shooting in Aurora, Colorado, the trailers for Gangster Squad were pulled from theaters and re-edited to remove the offensive trailer footage that struck too close to home for many across the nation. In addition, some scenes were apparently edited out of the movie as this YouTube video attests.

Before we leave all this madness and strange coincidences I want to drop just a couple more unbelievable coincidences for you to chew on. Literally just hours before the shooting occurred, a new music video by the rapper Lil’ Wayne was released titled, “My Homies, Still” which had disturbing connections to the shooting about to take place. It should be noted by the way, that after the shooting James Holmes developed a twisted fan base of young devotees on sites like Tumblr where they would praise him for the killings and debate which of them James would have shot first if THEY had been in the theater that night. His fan base referred to themselves as his “Holmies”.

In the very bizarre and dark music video full of strange occult like symbolism, Lil’ Wayne and his “Homies” are seen posing in an empty movie theater amidst a collection of skeletons. Many frames of the video depict exactly 12 skeletons in the theater such as this one below. It should be noted of course that the shooting that night took place in a movie theater and that exactly 12 people were reported killed. That’s a little freaky, no?

Unnerving: Lil' Wayne appears in a sparse movie theater with his friends and a number of skeletons as part of his latest music video which was released just hours before the Colorado shooting

To make things a little more creepy, the first lines of the song go like this:

“Man, fuck ya’ll with a sick dick, semi automatic no click click”

The connection there should be obvious. Oh, and it should be noted that at one point during the mass shooting James Holmes semi automatic rifle allegedly jammed. He would later confess under psychological examination that he could have killed a lot more people that night if his gun hadn’t jammed. “Semi automatic, no click click!” Hmmm

To be fair, the video snippet shown above does later pan out a little further and it can be seen that 14 actual skeletons are in the theater (not 12). Those who believe there is ZERO connection to the video and the shooting will point out that the body count is off. Having said that, if your curious, go take a peek at the video for yourself.

Lastly I leave you with this little oddity. As we have been discussing in previous posts, the shooting occurred during the premier of the new batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. The shooter, allegedly James Holmes, had died his hair orange prior to entering the theater. Early reports after the shooting claimed that the shooter had referred to himself as the Joker…an obvious reference to the infamous Batman villian. Here is where it gets interesting.

James Holmes, born December 13, 1987, was born a year after Frank Miller’s comic “Dark Knight Returns” is published. Some independent researchers have found possible hidden connections between James Holmes and the original Dark Knight Returns comic.  As one example, in Frank Miller’s 1986 comic “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns”, there is a page depicting a disturbed individual who walked into a crowded theater with a gun and goes on a shooting rampage.  Here is a few panels of the comic book for your review.

As you can see, the shooter is portrayed as a tall lanky individual with stubbled chin and red/orange hair, pretty much exactly how James Holmes looked in his first official mugshot and first court appearance. It should also be noted that the 1986 comic was the inspiration for the movie The Dark Knight Rises that was playing in the theater the night of the shooting. In the comic book, the orange haired shooter kills three people but the murders are blamed on Batman who did not actually do the killings. Just another something to think about. Some claim that the depiction of the crazed gunman in the original comic bares a striking, if not uncanny, resemblance to James Holmes. You decide:

Ok, ok, enough of that madness. Again, please do not judge the weight of this conspiracy theory on these strange but interesting coincidences. I find them interesting indeed, but the real conspiracy theory may have very little to do with any oddball connections such as these. Let’s return now to the theater.

As the final trailer for the new movie “The Hobbit” ended, Katie Medly mentioned to her husband Caleb how much she really wanted to see that movie.  Caleb replied that he did too. Those were the last intelligible words she remembers her husband ever saying to her. The shooter was about to appear.

One thought on “006 – The Aurora Colorado Shooting and it’s Creepy, CREEPY Coincidences

  1. I am crazy about coincidences. Many times someone explains them away. These are really nuts though. Especially the music video released the same day. When I get home I am going to try and find those trailers you referred to. I love a good challenge. Would be fun if I found them.
